Leatherbound diary with brief dated entries by a man traveling with a company of men, the Bath Cal Company, from their home in Summit County, Ohio to the gold rush region of California. The first pages of the diary contain dated lists of accounts and provisions being gathered for the trip. Trip entries cover the period, March 18 to July 16, 1850. Entries give details of miles traveled, location, and conditions encountered. Also includes a few pages of dated entries in the back of the diary made May through August, 1852. The 1852 entries are lists of expenses for provisions and dollar amounts of [gold?] "took out" by the Bull Crives Company.
