Granted by Sola (1) 1817 to graze cattle, and (2) Oct. 12, 1822, to build a house, and (3) ownership recognized by the Territorial Deputation Oct. 25, 1824, and (4) by Figueroa Oct. 13, 1834, all grants to Jose Ignacio Vallejo; 2 leagues, by name. Sola on Feb. 23, 1818, had permitted the use of the land for cattle breeding, and a grant by him on June 2, 1822, was claimed. Claim filed by Jose de Jesus Vallejo Mar. 2, 1852. Confirmed by the Board Dec. 6, 1853. Confirmed by the District Court Mar. 7, 1856, and Apl. 14, 1862. Confirmed by the Supreme Court Apl. 11, 1864. Patent issued to Jose de Jesus Vallejo Feb. 14, 1865, for 8,866.43 acres. The patent is recorded in Salinas, Monterey County. No. 221 General Land Office map. Bowman, J.N.
