Granted by Alvarado Sept. 21, 1838, to Salvador Vallejo; 4 leagues, by name. Claim filed by Joseph P. Thompson Dec. 21, 1852, for 640 acres. Confirmed by the Board Dec. 13, 1853. Confirmed by the District Court Feb. 13, 1857; appeal dismissed Apl. 2, 1857. Patent issued to Joseph P. Thompson June 3, 1880, for 604.68 acres. The original patent was among the papers which survived the 1906 San Francisco Fire and is now in the National Archives, Washington. No. 76 General Land Office map. In this case the validity of the grant for Napa Rancho was passed upon and confirmed for 26,378.08 acres. Bowman, J.N.
