Granted by Micheltorena Aug. 1, 1844, to Pablo de la Guerra; 10 leagues, and to John R.B. Cooper, 6 leagues, both by name. The grant to Cooper was in payment of a state debt of $4,000. Claim filed by Henry W. Halleck, James Black, and Benjamin R. Buckelew June 14, 1852, for 16 leagues. Confirmed by the Board Sept. 25, 1855. Confirmed by the District Court Mar. 9, 1857; appeal dismissed Apl. 30, 1857. This confirmation included the claim of Daniel Frink and William Reynolds, June 2, 1852, for part of the grant. Patent issued Nov. 1, 1861, (1) to Henry W. Halleck for 30,848.85 acres, (2) to James Black for 9,478.82 acres, (3) to Benjamin R. Buckelew for 8,695.27 acres, and (4) to Daniel Frink and William Reynolds for 7,598.10 acres. The four patents are recorded in San Rafael, Marin County. No. 32 General Land Office map. Bowman, J.N.
