Title
Rye windbreaks on sand knolls south of Morro Bay. These consist of two rows of rye 6" apart. The breaks are spaced about 75 feet apart and across the prevailing wind, which is here north. Beans are then planted between them, the rye preventing the light soil from drifting over and killing out the beans. San Luis Obispo County, California. May 1916.
