Title
Stave mill on Mont Alto Forest, Pennsylvania. This is a private operation on a leased site buying salvage Chestnut cut from the State Forest. These is also here a student mill run by the college which saws lumber and lath. Chestnut poles are also gotten out in considerable quantity. Extract wood is now worth more than that for staves. This is all slack cooperage, mostly nail, keg bolt and railway spike kegs.
