Title
Redwood. View of a second growth redwood which had too much growing space and produced too broad a crown. Limbs are 2" in diameter; and alive from about 1/3 of trunk length from ground. Dead limbs persist longer. Nearby trees of same age and standing closer together, and smaller in diameter, but limbs are smaller, and are dead 1/2 way up. This tree is about 48" diameter at breast height, 150' high and 70 years old. Southern Pacific Land Company, Navarro River at Flinn Camp gate. 6/27/42. E.F.
