1/2 mile south of Somerville. Looking north-west at Coulter pine formation. Coulter pine 6-18 inches in diameter and 20 50 ft. high. Understory shrubs: Interior live oak 10 ft. in height. Arctostaphylos manzanita 5 to 20 ft. high, Arctostaphylos andersonii auriculata 5 to 20 ft. high. Ground cover : Bromus rubens and Bromus hordeaceus and Avena barbata.
