Title
Casmalia Hills (sand). Fire injured Arctostaphylos rudis 4 to 6 feet high, showing burl like swellings on stems from which adventitious buds grow. None of such burls below ground surface. Northeast slope, elevation 1000 ft. Associates: Arctostaphylos sp., Adenostoma fasciculatum. Note sprouts at left of 2 ft. rule.
