Title
Redwood. "Chandelier Tree." Underwood Park (formerly Coolidge Park), Redwood Highway, northern Mendocino County. Tree is 21 ft. in diameter at base and 315 ft. high, according to owner, and 2500 years old. Actual ring count on roof of opening gives age as between 700 and 800 years. First 100 years 30" in diameter; second 100 years. 10.5" wide (51" dia.). Opening is 80" high; 69" wide at top and 11.5' long. Not a hollow tree originally. Some stringy and dry rot in center.
