Redwood. A girdled redwood, branchless snag, just south of Hartsook Grove, near Humboldt-Mendocino County line. Girdled perhaps in 1890's by a settler to remove competition from an orchard. Must have been a very long-crowned limby open-grown tree and fast grown. Diameter 114" breast high, excluding bark and some sapwood. 190' high and about 250 years old. See also 7165. 7-13-42 E.F.
